Delhi Daredevils (DD) (now Delhi Capitals) is one of the most mystical tales in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). Although the franchise has featured in all the editions of the tournament but still they didn’t won any title till now.

Although, the Delhi-based franchise is renowned for boasting epic lineups, with the best T20 batsmen and bowlers. But, Usually, the DD’s, and now the DC’s, end up on the bottom half of the table. They hardly reach on the playoff. Besides, they have the bad reputation of letting players go.

Unfortunately, the players they let go-off uturned out to be indispensable for their franchise later. For example, AB de Villiers for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gautam Gambhir and Andre Russell for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), even Kevin Pietersen, all of them proved their decision wrong later.

Meanwhile, under the Ricky Ponting coached era, their recent strategy of backing young Indian talents and bidding high for overseas cricketers has worked well for them.

Former Delhi batsman Aakash Chopra, who has named innumerable best XI lineups recently, now picked his all-time DC XI.

He picked Virender Sehwag as the captain of the side and completed the opening pair by picking Gautam Ghambir. He went to young Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer occupy the middle-order. He won’t with De Villiers, who donned DD’s colours during the first three seasons of the IPL to make a strong combination in the middle order. AB’s former Protea teammates Chris Morris and JP Duminy have been taken as the other overseas player in the lineup.

Dirk Nannes has been choosen to share the new ball with former India and Delhi legend Ashish Nehra. Iconic DC tweakers Shahbaaz Nadeem, who played the most number of seasons for the GMR-owned franchise has been taken as the spinner.
