AB de Villiers changes his twitter name to give tribute
Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers took everyone surprise when he changed his Instagram and twitter name to Paritosh Pant.
It will not be a surprise if someone woke up at morning, visited AB de Villiers social media handles and saw the name of an Indian guy instead. And, then thought the account of the player is hacked. However, thankfully it’s all good for AB de Villiers and the RCB star changed the name for a noble cause which he later revealed through a tweet.
De Villiers informed that he changed his name to Paritosh Pant to give tribute to him. Pant, who is a restaurant owner fed free meals to the needy people during the lockdown. He fed nearly 3000 people in these difficult times. As a token of respect, the Proteas man decided to change his name.
“I salute Paritosh, who started ‘Project Feeding from Far’ with Pooja & fed meals 2 needy during the lockdown. I wear his name on my back this season 2 appreciate their challenger spirit,” he tweeted.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are also giving a tribute to Covid heroes through #MyCovidHeroes initiatives. To acknowledge and honour the heroes, they will wear a tribute jersey which says “My covid heroes” during the training sessions and matches for the whole tournament.
Virat Kohli and his men are set to play their opening game tonight against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
