AB de Villiers might have called it quits from international cricket but he is still continuing to entertain the fans by playing franchise cricket leagues all across the world. The former Proteas batsman is also the very few players in the world who is admired by the rival teams.

He is 37 years old but still, he refuses to give up. Usually, players tend to lose their strength, confidence and mental power as they age but AB de Villiers is something different as he is getting better with age.

The experienced campaigner is known for taking the bowling attack to the cleaners in the form of sixes and fours. Overall, he has played 159 innings in the Indian Premier League where he has scored 4849 runs at an incredible average of 40.4.

The 37-year-old has also maintained a spectacular strike rate of 151.9 including 3 centuries and 38 half-centuries to his name. He has registered his best score of 133* against Mumbai Indians.

Popularly known as the 360-degree batsman, AB de Villiers scored 454 runs in 15 games in the 2020 season of the IPL at an average of 45.40 and a strike rate of 158.74. He has scored 5 half-centuries to his name.

AB de Villiers’ special message to RCB fans

RCB will start their campaign against the defending champions Mumbai Indians on April 9 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Meanwhile, AB de Villiers gave a special message to RCB supporters ahead of the upcoming season.

“I had a nice few training sessions, a lot of fitness, a lot of gym work. I feel ready and I am as young as ever so looking forward to it. We have spent a lot of time in the room in the last week and before that, we were travelling. It was quite intense coming out. I hit the floor running and gave it my absolute best.

“Had a lot of fun out here tonight and I was hitting the ball okay. Not 100% so I will come back tomorrow for a bit more,” the former South African batsman said during an appearance on RCB’s Bold Diaries.

“Yeah, I have quite a few sessions for the last six weeks. Quite a few outdoors and indoors. I mixed it up nicely. When I wanted to work on shots I would go indoors and if I wanted to have a feel for the outdoors with the nibbling around a bit I would spend an hour or so in the outdoors,” AB de Villiers signed off.
