AB De Villiers’ peerless effort for RCB
South African maestro AB De Villiers has made his inauguration in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League with a bamboozling 89 run innings against Kings XI Punjab.
Replacing off – formed Caribbean giant Chris Gayle, De Villiers positioned in the one down on his return from shoulder injury. He had to step into the field just in the second over of the innings as Aussie all – rounder Shane Watson made his departure from the crease in the last delivery of the first over.
Having been restricted in the crease for up to 15th over, by the time when he played only 28 deliveries and scored 31 runs, De Villiers’ power hitting started just after that.
Among the total 46 deliveries he faced to score the unbeaten 89 runs, De Villiers scored 58 runs in last 18 balls.
