ABD shines as RCB outsmart Punjab at home

From losing six matches in a row to chipping in with three successive wins, Royal Challengers Bangalore have done everything to correct their woes. Even as they are not officially out of the tournament, they have slim chances to keep their confidence growing as the games progress.

Royal Challengers Bangalore started off the game at a brisk pace, belting Punjab bowlers at will. They might have lost their skipper Virat Kohli early on in the game but Parthiv Patel provided the kind of start that it just set the platform for AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis to play a free-flowing innings.

ABD, the showman did leave the fans in awe by his stupendous knock that spoke huge volumes, showing that he can be the best in business, when he is in prime. Well, ABD and Stoinis constructed a 121-run stand for the fifth wicket which powered the team to a staggering total.

Punjab bowlers went for 11-13 an over and were quite expensive except Ravi Ashwin who was calm and composed with the ball as he picked a wicket to his name, giving away just 15 runs in his four overs.

In reply, Punjab batsmen- KL Rahul and Chris Gayle too provided a great start before Gayle got out early. Then Mayank Agarwal joined hands with KL Rahul and struck some boundaries to maintain good run rate. When both of them got out, it was their wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran who played a blinder of a knock but unable to help the team to get over the line.
