Aiming hard to get his place back in the team, Abu Hider Rony have been showing jittery performance in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League. Playing 8 matches, Rony claimed 18 wickets playing for Gazi Group Cricketers in the midst of adverse condition for pacers in DPL.
Rony said, “Fast bowlers are facing stuffy things in this DPL considering the wicket and weather condition. The climate is too hot and pitches are flat giving leeway for the batsmen. Almost every match watches a score of 300 or more. Pace bowling has become too tough here but we have taken the atrocity as a challenge.”
However tossing around in DPL with a good performance is taken as a doorway to come back in the national side for Rony; he said, “It is exactly like that. If you look at the domestic cricket, everyone is observing the performance in premier league. He who performs here are in focus. My job is to perform – remaining are to be done by selectors.”
“Every cricketer wants to be in the national team. I myself played one there now I crave my place back. So I’m working hard to achieve that. Beside little batting practice, I’m working on my fitness and bowling so that I could make a good return in the end” – Abu Hider Rony explained.
