Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder players paid their last respect to Rashid Khan’s father who passed away yesterday in his home town.
Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan is suffering a huge tragedy now as his father Haji Khalil passed away on Sunday in Afghanistan. The leg spinner is currently playing Big Bash League in Australia.
On Sunday, the leg spinner confirmed the tragic incident on his official Twitter account quoting, “Today I lost the most important person in my life, father-the everlasting. Now I know why you always asked me to be strong, because you knew that today I would need the strength to bear your loss.Will be always in my I miss you.”
Despite his father’s loss Rashid was confident of playing the game on Monday against Sydney Thunders. As he said Rashid played the game between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunders. Before the game Rashidsaid that he was playing this game as a tribute to his father.
Rashid’s team the Adelaide Strikers and the opposition Sydney Thunders also paid a tribute to the leg-spinner’s father. The players took to the field wearing black armbands in the ongoing game on New Year’s Eve.
In this emotional game Rashid Khan took two wickets giving away 34 runs in the four overs he bowled. Also his team won the match comfortably by 20 runs. Rashid will flew back to home to attend his rituals for his father.
