Afghan cricketer Najeeb Tarakai passed away after car accident

Afghanistan batsman Najeebullah Tarakai who was involved in an accident on Friday passed away at the age of 29.

The days are not good for the cricketing world as the game is continuously losing some of its loved ones. There have been many days to forget for the people around the game. One such incident happened once again with the Afghanisthan cricketer Najeeb Tarakai.

The right-handed batsman met with a car accident last Friday and said that he was in critical condition, fighting for his life. Now the cricketing world has received the news that it wanted not to hear as the cricketer passed away, after fighting for nearly four days.

Afghanistan Cricket Board confirmed the news with a tweet. “ACB and Afghanistan Cricket Loving Nation mourns the heartbreaking & grievous loss of its aggressive opening batsman & a very fine human being Najeeb Tarakai (29) who lost his life to tragic traffic accident leaving us all shocked!” the tweet read.

Najeeb Tarakai represented Afghanistan in four T20I games and one ODI game. He was last seen in action at the International level, in the T20I game against Bangladesh in 2019.
