Afghanistan prove their ability once again
After Bangladesh in the recently concluded one-match Test series, Afghanistan yet again has shocked the Shakib Al Hasan led side in the T20 format too as they registered their second victory in the ongoing Tri-nation series.
Having been asked to ball first at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladeshi bowlers had a brilliant start as both the Afghan openers were sent back to the pavilion within 2 overs and the one-down batsman Najeeb Tarakai was also dismissed in the next over.
However, Asghar Afghan and Mohammad Nabi in the fifth wicket stand added 79 runs which helped the batting side to make a strong comeback in the game. Nabi scored 84 runs off just 54 balls smashing 7 sixes and three fours while Asghar played a sensible knock of 40 runs off 37 balls.
In reply, Bangladesh kept losing wickets on a regular interval since the beginning of the match. Opener Litton Das once again left his position in the Bangladesh squad questionable as he went for a duck in the second ball of the innings.
Although Mahmudullah and Sabbir tried to give a fight back in the fifth wicket stand, they couldn’t stay on the middle for long. After Mahmudullah’s wicket, Bangladesh again started to lose wicket in a regular interval and finally got all-out on 139.
Bangladesh – 135 19.5/20 ov RR: 6.80
Afghanistan – 164/6 20/20 ov RR: 8.20
