Afghanistan stun BCB XI in tour match

Afghanistan have made a good start to their Bangladesh tour as they beat Bangladesh Cricket Board XI by 66 runs in the only tour match at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. [Full Scorecard]

BCB XI captain Imrul Kayes elected to field first after winning the toss. Afghanistan lost their first three wickets including openers Nawroz Mangal and Mohammad Shahzad for 47 runs in 14.2 overs. Hashmatullah Shahidi and captain Asghar Stanikzai put on 63-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Stanikzai scored 63-ball 31 with 4 fours. Hashmatullah scored a well-made half-century. He made 69 runs off 96 deliveries hitting 5 fours and a six. Rashid Khan (30 off 24 with 4 fours) and Mirwais Ashraf (32* off 19 with 3 fours and 2 sixes) also scored good runs for their side. BCB XI restricted Afghanistan to 233 in 49.2 overs.

Alauddin Babu and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took three wickets each for their team. Abu Hider Rony and Subhashis Roy took 2 wickets each.

Bangladesh Cricket Board XI were in deep trouble losing four wickets for 39 runs in 13.4 overs. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat and Mehidy Hasan Miraz made 56-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Miraz got out on 15. BCB XI were 95/5.

Mosaddek kept batting. He added 59 runs with Shuvagata Hom for the sixth wicket. He played a very sensible knock of 76 runs off 97 deliveries hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Shuvagata scored 31-ball 34 runs with 4 fours and one six. BCB XI were bundled out for 167 runs in 38.1 overs. The visitors Afghanistan won by 66 runs.

Mohammad Nabi took 4 wickets for 24 runs. Fareed Ahmad and Rashid Khan took two wickets each.
