Finally, he got the opportunity on Friday (January 20) in the BPL match. Chattogram entered the field against the Khulna Tigers on the last day of the Chattogram phase. Nafay got a chance to bat at no. 5.
But he batted with the bat of his teammate and Bangladesh national team cricketer Afif Hossain. It is known that the bat that the young Pakistani youngster brought with him when he came from the country broke in the practice session.
After that, he received a bat from Afif as a gift. This young cricketer was very happy to receive a bat from Afif. This has been confirmed by Chattogram Challengers.
Chattogram Challengers shared a video on their verified Facebook page. In which Nafay said, "This bat you are looking at is Afif bhai's bat. I told Afif bhai that I don't have a good bat. So Afif bhai gave it to me. Thank you very much that he himself gave me this bat. Thank you very much Afif bhai. Love Bangladesh, love Chattogram Challengers fans."
And in the caption of that video, the Chattogram team wrote, "This young Pakistani stylish top-order batter Khawaja Nafay played with Afif's bat! At the end of the day, he thanked Afif!"
Nafay returned after scoring 5 runs off 3 balls on his debut.
Chattogram have won only two of the six matches in the ongoing BPL so far. They are sixth in the points table with four points.
