Aftab misses playing T20 cricket
Aftab Ahmed was arguably one of the most exciting talents ever to emerge from Bangladesh. His batting was a celebration of sport. He was an aggressive stroke-maker and bulldozed the bowlers with his bat mercilessly. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ টি-টোয়েন্টি ফরম্যাট মিস করেন আফতাব]
But sadly, his cricketing journey didn’t last longer. Bangladesh cricket saw the end of the promising career in a sad manner. Now while remembering those golden days of his cricket career, Aftab misses the T20 cricket the most.
“Yes, I always do miss the T20 format a lof because my batting style was appropriate for this format. Even I used to play One Day cricket in T20 style. I saw the end of my cricket career when T20 had become more popular. So I miss Twenty Twenty Cricket,” said Aftab.
The former dashing top-order batsman also admitted that he got himself out by playing poor shots so many times which was never acceptable.
He added, “I’m always thankful to our former two coaches Dav Whatmore and Jamie Siddons as they always allowed me to play the attacking cricket that I used to play. But I should have had worked more on playing bigger innings. Many times I got myself out between 30 to 40 runs.”
“Most of the times it was not anything like that the bowlers bowled exceptionally well to pick up my wickets rather I had gifted them my wickets by playing poor shots. So I think I should have had worked more on my batting and solve the problems,” he concluded.
