After Kusal-Thisara’s departure, Malinga set to fly back home

Three Sri Lankan cricketers will not be available for Ranpur Riders for the rest of the tournament due to national duty.

Thisara Perera and Kusal Perera have already fly back home and Lasith Malinga will fly to Sri Lanka on 29 November. Sri Lanka’s upcoming series is against India and that’s why Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) have called them back.

Ranpur Riders informed: “On 28 and 29 November, fitness test will be held for Sri Lankan players. All players are called up who are in the camp for the ODI and T20I series against India. That’s why SLC have permitted them to play till 27 November. Malinga have been given a special permisson and he will leave on 29 November after playing the match against Sylhet Sixers on 28 November.”

It is now hard to tell which Sri Lankan player Rangpur will miss the most, but according to stats so far, the departure of Thisara Perera will be a big blow for Rangpur.

The all-rounder already gave two match winning performances, one with the bat and one with the ball. Now only time will say how much it will effect Rangpur Riders.
