Agarkar wants Mashrafe to be dropped
Former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar in his latest interview criticized Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and said he does not deserve to be included in the playing eleven. Bangladesh who won their first game in the tournament by beating hot favorite South Africa, suffered back to back losses against New Zealand and England.
Mashrafe’s bowling in the matches was not impressive as he picked up only one wicket despite playing all the three matches. He was wicketless in first two matches and grabbed one wicket in the match against England conceding over six runs in an over.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh pacer Rubel Hossain could not find a place in the playing eleven yet. Agarkar feels it’s high time Bangladesh team management include Rubel in the playing eleven by excluding skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza from the playing eleven.
“Rubel should be included in the eleven, I know for them exclusion of Mashrafe from the eleven is tough but if you consider his form in this World Cup, I don’t think he gets into the eleven,” Ajit Agarkar told ESPNCricinfo.
Agarkar also gave another option to include Rubel Hossain. He thinks Bangladesh can keep all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain out of the eleven to include Rubel Hossain since the side already has two spinners with Miraz and Shakib.
“If they want they can keep Mosaddek out of the eleven, they have enough spin bowling option. Mehedi and Shakib are bowling well, they are batting pretty well too. At this moment bowling is their main concern,’’ he added.
