Khaled Mahmud Sujon, arguably the most successful manager of Bangladesh team, was supposed to be back in his post for the Champions Trophy, but now it has been learnt that Akram Khan is going to be the manager of the Tigers instead of Sujon.

Akram Khan confirmed the news himself on Tuesday (May 23). He is expected to leave for England on May 27 to join the Tigers team camp.

Bangladesh are currently in Ireland to play in the tri-nation series. The red and green brigade will play their last match of the series against New Zealand on Wednesday. Then they will return to England on the very next day.

After a day of rest, Bangladesh will face Pakistan in the first warm-up match, while their second warm-up match will be against India. Though Akram will not be with the team for the first warm-up match, he will be their for the second one.

To be noted, the Champions Trophy will begin from June 1, with Bangladesh facing the hosts England in the first match.
