Alcohol logo on Babar Azam’s kit creates controversary

A logo of a alcohol company, on Pakistan shorter format Skipper Babar Azam’s jersey has created a mixed reaction among the fans in social media. While playing the first match in the vitality T20 tournament, Babar Azam was playing for Somerset and alcohol logo was printed on his kit by mistake which has created a lot of controversary and sparks among the cricket fans.

Babar Azam played a 42-run knock from 35 balls in his first match for Somerset. A logo called Tribute which is the title and shirt sponsor in addition to being the official beer of Somerset. Accronding to their contract with the franchise, the logo will be in the kit. But it is stated according to sources that the logo was left on his shirt by mistake as the skipper joined a little bit late. But it is also stated that, Somerset will remove the logo before the next match, which is on Friday.

Before the contract with the franchise, Babar and his fellow Pakistani cricketer Azhar Ali, refused to use the alcohol company’s logo while they were playing for the same franchise last time. Many Muslim cricketers in the past have refused to don alcohol logos on their jersey.
