All-round show by Mash in Mirpur

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has shown his all-round performance in the second of the Rocket ODI series against England at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday (9 October).

Mashrafe on his way to 44

After being sent to bat first by England, Mashrafe came into the crease when his side was 169/7 in 41.4 overs. He started the party by hitting two sixes off Moeen Ali in the 43rd over.

Mashrafe kept scoring runs for his team. He played a nice cameo knock of 44 runs off 29 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. He and Nasir made crucial 69-run partnership for the sixth wicket which helped Bangladesh to post 238/8 in 50 overs.

While in England’s chase, Mashrafe sent back opener James Vince in the fourth over. Soon, he dismissed Jason Roy and Ben Stokes inside the first powerplay. His performance at the start created massive pressuee on the opposition.

The Narail Express led the side from the front. England were just coming back to the game at the death despite having one wicket left only. He came back into the attack and dismissed Jake Ball to finish off the match. Bangladesh won by 34 runs and came back to the series.

Mashrafe has taken 4 wickets for 29 runs in 8.4 overs. He was very economical, 3.34 runs per over. This is his second best bowling figures in ODI career.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been awarded Man of the Match for his superb all-round performance.
