All-rounder Shadab leads Trinbago to emphatic victory

Chasing 119 runs, at a stage of the match, it became tough to reach the landmark of victory for Trinbago Knight Riders as they lost their top six batsmen on 75 runs. Shane Shillingford was the key and created pressure for the home side.
He picked up Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro, Denesh Ramdin and Darren Bravo in contrast of giving away just 22 runs from hi 4 overs. Then Shadab Khan and JPR Scantlebury-Searles joined in the middle and changed the momentum of the game towards Trinbago. Shadab Khan’s 30 runs off 33 balls alongside JPR Scantlebury-Searles’s 20-ball firing 27 runs helped to stand an unbeaten 45 runs partnership and seal the comfortable 4-wicket victory for Trinbago.

Earlier, by batting first, St. Lucia Stars put a total of 118 runs after struggling against the Trinbago Knight Rider’s bowling line up. Batsmen did not show their potential except Andre Fletcher and Darren Sammy.
Only three batsmen of Lucia able to reached in two digits score. Fletcher (40) was Lucia’s highest scorer. Alongside him skipper Sammy added 25 runs and Kamran Akmal added 17 runs on the scoreboard. Hence, their innings came to an end on 118/5 at the end of allotted 20-over.
Bowlers of Trinbago were phenomenal with the ball. Kevin Cooper grabbed 3 for 21 and assisted by Darren Bravo, who bagged 2 wickets. Alongside them, Shadab, Pierre and Sunil Narine picked up 1 wicket respectively.
