Allan Border slams Australia

Australian cricket team has come under fire in the wake of a heartbreaking defeat in the ongoing Ashes series. The visitors’ inability to use DRS backfired them and as a result, England snatched the victory from the jaws of the defeat and thanks to star all-rounder Ben Stokes who stole the show with an unbeaten 135* to steer England to a 1-wicket win over Aussies in the third Ashes Test. England managed to equal the series 1-1.

Following the result, former Test captain Allan Border launched a scathing attack on Australia’s use of game’s decision review system.

Ben Stokes’ match-winning show was regarded as the “best I’ve seen in over 50 years” by former England opener Geoffrey Boycott. But Stokes could have easily been cut short when Aussie off-spinner Nathan Lyon struck all-rounder’s pads with the target just under 10 runs.

Meanwhile, the on-field umpire Joel Wilson was totally unimpressed by Australia’s appeal and as a result, the tourists couldn’t review the decision having already used their final review the previous over on a confident shout against England No.11 Jack Leach.

TV replays on the large screen showed a review would have been successful and Allan Border was absolutely furious over Tim Paine’s poor use of the DRS system.

“The one time where the review was there to be taken for the right reason and to win the Test match, we’ve run out of reviews because of stupidity earlier on,” Allan Border told

“It’s come back to bite us badly. Our use of the review system has been appalling in this series in particular.”
