After his appointment, Cape Town Blitz coach Ashwell Prince said, “Hashim’s experience and knowledge in the game is huge. We look forward to bringing him to our management team.”

“There are clearly a couple of promising youthful batsmen in our squad, and I figure they will profit gigantically from having him around. It’s likewise an open door for him to investigate whether a position, for example, batting consultant could be something that he should take up in future. I have no doubt that he’d do a great job at it if he did,” he added.

Hashim Amla announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after the 2019 World Cup and after that he had signed with Surrey on a two-year Kolpak deal. He also confirmed that ho would continue the domestic cricket along with the MSL.
