Amla set to make BPL debut
Former South Africa cricketer Hashim Amla is coming to participate in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). According to reliable sources, he will play for Khulna Tigers in a cash-rich tournament which is now in its seventh season.
Already half of the Bangabandhu BPL has been completed, with majority of the teams have played out more than half of their stipulated matches in the round robin league. The top four teams in the points table will play in the play-offs, and hence the remaining matches are more important than ever.
Khulna Tigers are nicely poised to hold a position in the play-offs. And the inclusion of the legendary cricketer will surely boost the strength of the team.
Amla bade goodbye to international cricket earlier this year. He has never been a part of BPL in the past, so this is going to be a brand new experience for him in an eventful professional career.
The 36-year-old batsman has the experience of playing Indian Premier League and Caribbean Premier League in his resume. Before retiring from the international arena, he played 160 Tests, 181 ODIs and 44 Twenty-20 matches for South Africa. He possesses many a records for batsmen in international cricket.
Amla has played a total of 154 recognized Twenty-20 matches, and got two centuries alongside 27 half centuries. As a top-order batsman he can contrinute to bring an effective start for his side. Thanks to one of the best batsmen of his generation, Khulna will become more fearsome in this BPL.
