Anamul hits second 200, Mahedi misses out

Anamul was on 167* off 206 after the end of the second day. It was his 14th ton in first-class cricket. He brought up his second first-class double century in 248 balls in the morning session on day three.

The right-hander didn’t stay much longer after getting the milestone. His innings ended in 202 runs from 251 deliveries including 23 fours and 4 sixes. He had made 216 against Rangpur Division in Khulna in September.

On the other hand, Mahedi missed out on a maiden double ton. He has been dismissed for 177 runs off 160 balls. His innings included 21 fours and 2 sixes. He was on 168* overnight.

Mahedi scored his fourth first-class hundred in 109 balls. It was his second hundred in this season. Previously, he had made the same score of 177 against Barisal in Khulna in September.

Anamul and Mahedi added 295 runs for the second wicket. The partnership put Tier-1 toppers Khulna right on top. Earlier, Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s career-best 7/24 thrashed Dhaka for just 113 runs. Khulna have declared at 459/8 in 91 overs, leading by 346 runs.

While, Rangpur Division’s Nasir Hossain is nearing 150 against Barisal Division in Chittagong in Tier-1. In Tier-2, openers Mizanur Rahman and Nazmul Hossain Shanto have reached centuries against Dhaka Metro in Rajshahi.

Till now there have been three double centuries in this NCL. Anamul has hit two, Rangpur’s Naeem Islam had made 216 against Dhaka Division in October.
