Anderson breaks into 900-point mark

Anderson enters into the ellite club of over 900 points in the latest ICC test rankings revealed by ICC after the second test between India and England. He became only the seventh English player to achieve this unique record.

After the 2nd test between India and England ICC released the latest ICC test rankings. In the chart for the bowlers England seam bowler James Anderson stays on the top of the table with 903 points. With this ranking he achieved his highest career rating points by suprassing 900 points mark.

With this new rating points he becomes only the seventh English player to go pass 900 points in test raknings. After 38 years an English bowler has recorded this rating points. Previous English bowlers to go pass 900 points were Sydney Barnes (932), George Lohmann (931), Tony Lock (912), Ian Botham (911), Derek Underwood (907) and Alec Bedser (903).

With his outstanding match spell of 9/43 Anderson has achieved this higher rating points. Now he is leading the table with 21 points more than the South African fast bowler Rabada.

The other English player Chris Woakes who entered into the Lords honours’ board with his century has achieved his career batting position of 50. He also ranked at 32 among bowlers and seventh among the all-rounders. With his knock of 93 wicket keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow comes back in to the top ten by staying at ninth position.

With the rises in the England side, Indian skipper Virat Kohli who achieved no.1 position after the first test has slipped down to the second position after his scores of 23 and 17 in the second test. Ravichandran Ashwin who top scored the Indian batting cards in both innings of the second test has secured third place in the chart for the all-rounders.
