Anderson reaches 600 wickets milestone as England seal the series

With a draw in the final match of three match test series between England and visiting Pakistan, England picked the series as their own in 1-0 difference. Besides England series win, veteran English pacer James Anderson has reached the milestone as the first fast bowler in the world to take 600 Test wickets after the inception of cricket.

The 36-year-old English fast bowler reached the 600th wickets milestone on the fifth day of the third Test of the series against Pakistan in Southampton on Tuesday with the wickets of Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali.

Although, the final match was closed for two sessions due to rain, but outstanding Jimmy reached the milestone as soon as the game started. Anderson became the first pace bowler in the world to take 600 wickets, leading Pakistan captain Azhar Ali to the pavilion.

The English fast bowler has set a precedent in his glorious 16-year Test career. At the same time, Jimmy became the fourth bowler in the world to take the most wickets in Tests.He is only after three bowling legends spinners Muttiah Muralitharan (600), Shane Warne (606) and Anil Kumble (619).

Besides this, Anderson is the first fast bowler in the world to reach the milestone of 600 Test wickets. He is followed by legendary Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath. His wicket count is 563.

Anderson made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in 2003. After his debut, he reached the milestone one after another and now the one and only fast bowler to have the highest number of wickets in tests. He topped the 600-wicket milestone in 157 Tests at Southampton that day.
