Watch: Andre Russell’s hat-trick against Chittagong Vikings

The all-around performance from Chittagong Vikings handed over a 11 runs victory for them against Dhaka Dynamites.

This season of Bangladesh Premier League is well poised now and moving interestingly day by day in it’s second half. In the 30th match of the league Chittagong Vikings took on Dhaka Dynamites at Chattogram.

Chittagong Vikings won the toss and elected to be first in a moderate high scoring game. Chittagong got a good start from their openers as one of their openers, Delport went onto score 71 runs from 57 balls and he was the top scorer too for Chittagong Vikings.

Apart from him, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim also played a good hand of 43 runs off 24 balls with a strike rate of 179.17. Finally Chittagong Vikings managed to put 174 runs on the board for the loss five wickets in the allocated 20 overs. Andrew Russell led the bowling attack for Dhaka Dynamites with three wickets that too with a hat trick.

Dhaka Dynamites were off to a poor start in chasing a grand total of 175. Both the Dhaka openers Mizanur Rahman and Sunil Narine fell cheaply. Rony Thadukar who came at no.3 also ended in disappointment for Dhaka Dynamites.

Shakib Al Hassan and Nurul Hassan rebuilt the innings for Dhaka Dynamites. The skipper scored another half century but failed to convert it into a big one and even though he stayed till the end. Nurul Hassan also scored 33 runs.

Kieron Pollard was the next man in after the wicket of Nurul Hassan, had a very tiny stay as he went on a golden duck. Andre Russell played a cameo in the end along with Shakib Al Hassan. He scored 39 runs off 23 balls but he also failed to finish the match.

The match went nail biting till the end and finally Chittagong Vikings won the game by 11 runs. Abu Jayed was the star bowler for Chittagong Vikings with three wickets.
