SLC manager also said, “The IPL will be affected because he has to wait for the physio and the trainer to give him the green light. He has to be 100% fit. Angelo has to make that call with the physio because he is not 100% fit, we will not let him go.”

Angelo Mathews had been sidelined before the Test series against Bangladesh on account of a hamstring injury, now his return has been delayed due to a calf strain.

All-rounder Mathews plays for Delhi Daredevils; the franchise has faced grim injury troubles of star cricketers ahead of the IPL – 10.

After Quinton De Kock and JP Duminy were confirmed their unavailability in this season’s tournament, Delhi Daredevils is now on verge of losing another major performer.

Manager Gurusinha said, “He has told me that he is not likely to go for the IPL if he is not hundred percent fit. Champions trophy in England and Wales is our next big target and Angelo is fully committed to that.”
