Another Slinga Malinga has been found in Sri Lanka. Yes! Matheesha Pathirana is a young pace bowler in Sri Lanka and this 17-year-old boy bowls like Lasith Malinga.

Last week while playing his debut match for Trinity College he took 6 wickets for seven runs against St. Servatius’ College.

Speaking exclusively over telephone from Sri Lanka, he said, “I played cricket for the Trinity College in the under 17 A team and got selected to the under 19 A team too. As this was my debut match in under 19 I was feeling a bit nervous. I could not get any wicket on the 1st day. But on the 2nd day when I got the 1st wicket I targeted to get 5 wickets in this match, and successfully ended up getting 6 wickets, which made my debut under 19 match unforgettable”.

“People have started comparing my bowling action with Malinga. Actually, Malinga us a legend, not only to me, but to all the worldwide cricket fans. I think his talent is unbeatable. But I’ld like to walk in his steps and be a cricketer like him one day”.

“I have heard that people say that I bowl in a different style, many address my style is slingy. I think I have improved my style when growing older, and even now. I will be improving bowling until I become a good cricketer in Sri Lanka”.

“Yes, I do have met Malinga. His advice has been to get the accuracy right and, in the load, up he told me not to panic”, the bowler signed off.
