Ashraful smashes century against Mohammedan
Veteran Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Ashraful who has been out of the international cricket since a long, smashed a century in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) on Tuesday against Mohammedan Sporting Club.
The match is still going on in Savar where Ashraful’s side Kalabagan Krira Chakra won the toss and elected to bat first. Although Kalabagan lost their opener Munim Shahriar at the beginning of their innings, another opener stayed on the crease 20th over and scored important 46 runs. He made a 85-run partnership with one-down batsman Mohammad Ashraful.
Captain of the side, Mahmudul Hasan and Ashraful added 82 more runs in the middle in the second wicket partnership. But Mahmudul could not stay on the middle for a long time as he went back to the pavilion after scoring 33. Afterwards wickets were falling on a regular interval and Kalabagan Krira Chakra ultimately folded out for 260 in the 48th over of the innings.
Ashraful was the highest run scorer for his side Kalabagan Krira Chakra with a brilliant century. He scored 127 off 124 balls, hitting 13 boundaries and 3 over boundaries.
Qazi Onik made a big impact with the ball as he picked up 6 wickets for Mohammedan Sporting Club conceding 48 runs.
