An official statement issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the news on Monday, which also carried the 15-man India squad to be led by Virat Kohli.

The solitary Test match between Bangladesh and India, to mark Bangladesh’s first ever bilateral series in India, will commence on February 9 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.

Following the 3-0 series win over New Zealand in the Tests, both Ashwin and Jadeja were not picked for the subsequent ODI series in order to keep them fresh for the five Tests against England.

The duo was brought back for the England ODIs though to give them a handful of games in the format before the Champions Trophy. [Read also: BCCI assures about Hyderabad Test]

Jadeja and Ashwin combined for seven wickets in the three ODIs with the offspinner going wicketless in two matches. Jadeja on the other hand, following a fruitful Test series, could manage only 29 with the bat.

With the one-off Test against Bangladesh slated to start on February 9, just eight days after the final T20I, they have been withdrawn yet again since India are also scheduled to play four Tests against Australia immediately.
