Ashwin set to join Delhi Capitals

Kings XI Punjab’s skipper Ravichandran Ashwin is closing on to join Delhi Capitals for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who led Kings XI Punjab in last season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is moving on to the Delhi Capitals.

According to Times of India, the franchise are set to finalize the signing of Ashwin in a couple of days with only a few formalities remaining.

A source close to the franchise’s management informed: “The deal with Ashwin should be through. The Capitals are very close to signing him. There are a few formalities that need to be taken care of.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals’ mentor Sourav Ganguly said the team would love to have Ashwin in the side.

“We would love to have Ashwin in our team, It also depends on if Kings XI Punjab release him.”

Ashwin has also played for Rising Pune Superstars and Chennai Super Kings in the past and has played a total of 139 matches in IPL. He picked up 125 wickets at an average of approximately 26.5. He is renown for his economic bowling, having an ER of 6.79, the second-best among bowlers to have played more than 100 matches in the competition.
