Aussie cricketers become unemployed as MoU expires


Australia cricketers threaten strike over contract disputeWith no solution reached on new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) due to take effect from 1st of July, around 200 cricketers of Australia have become unemployed. [বাংলায় পড়ুন:বেকার হয়ে পড়লেন স্মিথ-ওয়ার্নাররা]

The current MoU have expired on midnight of June 30th; and hundreds of cricketers including that of Australian men Test team have been thrown out of contract.

Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) and Cricket Australia (CA) have failed to reach in any agreement even after much hassles over the issue of payment securities of Aussie cricketers.

After the expiration of date, CA confirmed that around 1.2 million USD that would have been used to pay contracted cricketers will be invested in the National Community Facilities Funding Scheme.

However, Cricket Australia expressed their disappointment in the ACA’s unwillingness to consider the offered revenue sharing model. The current terms of situation means all professional cricketers except but 70 of them who are under multi-year contract with different states will not be paid until a new agreement can be reached.
