Australia-India’s opening Test set to be day-night at Adelaide
India and Australia are set to begin their Test series with a day-night Test at Adelaide starting from December 17. Along with the Test series, they will also play three ODIs and three T20Is.
After the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there is no time to take a breath for India and Australia as the two competitive sides will be taking on each other in Australia. The opening Test is set to be a day-night Test which begins on December 17.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the boxing Test starts from the traditional date of December 26 at the MCG. It also looks like Cricket Australia (CA) are likely to accept BCCI’s request of keeping a week gap between the second and third Test. The third Test is likely to begin from January 7 in Sydney while the final Test will begin from January 15 in Brisbane.
Earlier, it has been reported that BCCI will request to keep a gap so that the Indian captain Virat Kohli remains available to play in all the tests. The skipper and Anushka Sharma are expecting their baby in January.
Before the start of the Test series, India and Australia will face each other in the limited-overs format. The ODI series will take place on November 26, 28 and 30 while the T20Is will be played on December 4, 6, 8 at the Adelaide Oval.
India will travel to Australia with a squad of 25-27 members at least and they will be in quarantine for 14 days. Cricket Australia (CA) have confirmed that they will be allowed to train during the quarantine period.
