Babar to tour England with one condition
Pakistan ODI and limited overs captain Babar Azam has made it clear that he and the rest of the team will only tour England if ‘proper health and safety measures are put in place’ of playing. He said they all are agreed with that condition.
Although everything about the tour has been finalized but PCB said that they won’t force any player to play. Therefore, it’s assuming that, the tour is all set to go ahead. And the start date of the Test series will be pushed back from July 30 to August 5.
However, with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic still wreaking havoc around the world, Azam insisted that “human life has far more value than cricket” and they all want safety as granted.
“Human life has far more value than cricket and [the] PCB will only go ahead with the tour if proper health and safety measures are put in place,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
“Touring England won’t be easy. Health and safety of [the] players is of great importance and the tour will only be possible when proper arrangements are in place,” Azam was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
“Both England and Pakistan team fans, along with the cricketers, are missing cricket because of the pandemic. We will still try to perform to the best of our ability despite no support from the fans in the stadium.”
