Badree picks up first hat-trick of IPL 2017

After getting restricted for a paltry total of just 142 for five against Mumbai Indian’s, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore have produced a surrealistic start with the ball in hand, as Samuel Badree picked up an amazing hat-trick to trigger a collapse to MI’s top order.


Badree started his onslaught with taking Parthiv Patel out. In the very next delivery, he got rid of Mitchell McClenaghan, and then in the hat-trick ball, he removed Rohit Sharma with the googly.

And in this way, Mumbai Indians became 7 for four inside three overs, and Badree got his first IPL hat-trick. This is also the first hat-trick of the ongoing 10th edition of IPL. Badree opened the bowling for RCB. After two overs, Badree’s figures read as such: 2-1-4-3 with an unimaginable economy of just 2.

Earlier in the match, thanks to the returning Virat Kohli’s 29th IPL fifty in an innings that ran till 62, RCB got themselves into a moderate total of 142 runs for the loss of five wickets. Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers scored 22 and 19 respectively.
