Bangla Tigers appoint Lance Klusener as team director
Bangla Tigers, a Bangladeshi-owned team, took part in the Abu Dhabi T10 League for the first time in the last edition. However, the star Tiger cricketers could not play in the tournament due to the busy schedule. But the big stars of Bangladesh can be seen in the next edition.
Cricket is currently closed due to coronavirus, the Bangla Tigers team management is continuing to organize the team. Former South African all-rounder and current head coach of Afghanistan Lance Klusener has been appointed as the team director of the team.
Klusener has taken 272 wickets and scored 5,482 runs in 220 international matches for South Africa. The former all-rounder took over as Afghanistan’s head coach last year. He also worked as a batting coach for South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The Bangla Tigers authorities are happy to have such a high profile person as the team director. Mohammad Yeasin Chowdhury, chairman of the Bangla Tigers and FMC Group, said,
“The Bangla Tigers are working to form a strong team in this year’s tournament as well. Former South African cricketer and well-known coach Lance Klusener has joined the team as part of this. I believe that his colorful cricket career and experience as a coach will give the right direction to the Bangla Tigers.”
Last time, Anamul Haque, Abu Haider Rony, Farhad Reza, Junaid Siddique, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Mahedi Hasan and Arafat Sunny were called up for the Bangla Tigers. Among the foreigners were stars like Thisara Perera, Shehan Jayasuriya, Robbie Frylinck Liam Plunkett, Hasan Ali, Tom Moores, Andre Fletcher, Rilee Rossouw, James Faulkner and Collin de Grandhomme.
The fourth edition of the T10 League is scheduled to start on November 19 and will continue till November 28.
