Bangla Tigers register another win despite Russell storm in Abu Dhabi T10
Bangla Tigers have picked-up their third win in Abu Dhabi T10 League on Wednesday, November 20. They beat Northern Warriors by 6 runs. With that win, they have won two matches out of two in the Super League of the tournament.
Bangla Tigers came for batting after losing the toss at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Two openers, Andre Fletcher and Rilee Rossouw, set up a 46-run opening wicket in 4.4 overs. However, Bengal Tigers were under pressure when they were both out for a difference of 1-run. Fletcher scored 22 runs and Rossouw scored 21 runs.
Bangla Tigers lost 4 more wickets inside 7.4 overs and scored just 64 runs. Then all-rounder Robbie Frylinck started his destructive batting and gathered 37 runs in last 2 overs. He scored 36 runs off just 12 balls. He arranged the innings with four fours and three sixes. At the end of stipulated 10 overs, Bengal Tigers’ collection stood at 102 for 6.
Chasing the target, Northern Warriors lost their destructive opener Nicholas Pooran by just 24 runs. After that, they lost the wicket at regular intervals, but from one side destructive Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russell continued his natural stormy batting. He scored 41 runs with three fours and three sixes in 25 balls.
Northern Warriors scored 90 runs after 9 overs by losing just 4 wickets. They needed only 13 runs to win in the last over. Tigers captain Thisara Perera handed the ball to his trusted death bowler David Wiese. He picked-up Northern Warriors’ captain Darren Sammy’s wicket in his first ball.
Then he again got the wicket in his second ball of Chris Green. The bowler gave only 6 runs in his last four balls. As a result, Bangla Tigers won by 6 runs.
All-rounder David Wiese was adjusted man of the match for his 3 wickets in 2 overs.
