Bangladesh “A” stand in a suitable position after day one

Sri Lanka A manage to score 223 runs by losing 5 wickets against Bangladesh A at the end of day one in the second unofficial test of the series. The century partnership between Pathum Nissanka and Kamindu Mendis caused much headache for the visitors at the beginning of the innings. But three wickets from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and twi wickets from Ebadat Hossain in a quick succession made the visitors stress free after day one.


74 overs were completed by the visitors at Hambantota on Friday. Though full 90 overs weren’t completed but the day was full of thrilling. The momentum of the match fluctuated through the whole day to the hosts and the visitors.

Winning the toss, Sri Lanka A opted to bat first. But they didn’t able to start well as they lost their first wicket of Sangeeth Cooray at just 32 runs. After that, Pathum Nissanka and Kamindu Mendis played with much fluency and started to take the day for the hosts. They put in a 121-run partnership in the second wicket and tackled the earlier damage.

But at the right moment, Mehedi Hasan Miraz came and took the wicket of Kamindu Mendis to break the partnership. After that, the wickets fell continuously. Pathum Nissanka scored a fine innings of 85 runs with 11 fours. And both teams ended the day at an average position.
