Bangladesh-Afghanistan series and some records

The Rocket ODI series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan has come to an end yesterday. By clinching wins in the first and the last match of the series Bangladesh team has managed to put the series in their pocket by 2-1. It may boost-up Tigers’ confidence level before facing England team at home.

Shakib Al Hasan becomes the highest wickets taker bowler in ODI for Bangladesh.

By winning the third match of the series Bangladesh National Cricket Team has managed to have the tastes of victory in One-day format of the game for 100th times.

With this series win Bangladesh has managed to win last six series that they have played. Bangladesh team have never won that much series at a stress before.

By capturing two wickets of Afghanistan team in the first ODI of the series Shakib Al Hasan had become the highest wicket taker of Bangladesh in all three format of the game. Shakib is the only player of the cricket history to touch this milestone.

On the way of scoring 80 runs in the first ODI Tamim Iqbal has entered in an elite club of those cricketer who have scored at least 9000 international runs in their career.

Mashrafe Bin Mortoza has now lead Bangladesh team in their 32 international wins which is the highest by any Bangladeshi captain.

By sending back four batsmen in the pavilion during the second match of the series Shakib has managed to capture 100 wickets at Mirpur. And he is the third bowler of cricket history to take hundred plus wickets in a same ground.

Mosaddek Hossain who made his debut in the second ODI of the series has also become a part of history. He is the only BangladeshI player who have taken wicket in very first ball of his career.

With the help of the ton during the third ODI of the series Tamim has become the man who scores highest century for Bangladesh. Number of centuries of Tamim in ODI format is seven now.

Bangladesh has won the third ODI by 141 runs. It is their fourth biggest win. Besides it is their biggest win against Afghanistan.

The second match of the Rocket ODI series at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium has witnessed 8 leg before wickets (lbw) which is the joint highest in ODIs. Before this match, only two times 8 batsmen were given lbw in an ODI match.
