Bangladesh announce squad for Rawalpindi Test


Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced the squad for the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on Saturday. Mominul Haque will lead the side in the two-match Test series.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announces the squad for the first of the two ICC World Test Championship Tests against Pakistan. The first Test will be held in Rawalpindi from February 7. The team is set to leave Dhaka for Islamabad on February 4 while the second Test will take place in March.

In the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, the left-handed batsman Mominul Haque will continue to lead the side. He led the side in the tour of India, which ended in a 2-0 defeat for the visitors. Mushfiqur has been left out of the squad as he has declined to tour Pakistan during any of the phases.

Opener Shadman Islam also misses out due to injury along with Imrul Kayes while fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been left out due to his poor form. On the other hand, Nayeem Hasan has been picked over Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Youngster Saif Hassan is likely to make his debut through this series after he missed out an opportunity during the tour of India due to hand injury. Ebadat Hossain, Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi, Al-Amin Hossain, Rubel Hossain are the four pacers that have been picked for the first Test squad.
