Bangladesh answer well in Test cricket: Akram Khan

Bangladesh ICC Trophy winning skipper Akram Khan believes Bangladesh have answered all the critics who once spoiled negative comments on the country for gaining Test status by being shown marked improvement in recent performances.

In the latest International Cricket Council rankings, Bangladesh has elevated themselves in the eighth position pushing West Indies down the line.

“When we started playing Test cricket, many people said we didn’t deserve that,” Akram Khan said.

“Now we have thrown very good answers to all of them. It is the responsibility of both cricketers and board officials to maintain the good works; if we will be able to do that, Bangladesh will definitely progress much more in the coming future. It is a great achievement for us,” he said.

The tenth Test playing nation Bangladesh passed more than one and half ages in the elite arena of cricket. In 10th of November, 2000, Bangladesh played their inaugural Test match against India at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
