Bangladesh finish CWC19 with back to back defeats
Bangladesh have been handed yet another defeat in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Pakistan as thrashed the Masheafe Bin Mortaza by 94 runs.
Having been asked to bowl first, Bangladesh bowlers could not put the Pakistani in pressure. Although opener Fakhar Zaman was sent back to the pavilion by Saifuddin after Mehidy Hasan Miraz grabbed a brilliant catch, another opener Imam Ul Haque and one-down batsman Babar Azam made a 157-run partnership to lead Pakistan to a big total.
Babar Azam fell only 4 runs short to his second world cup ton but Imam Ul Haque picked up his maiden world cup century. Afterwards, Hafeez played a 25-run knock to take Pakistan further while Imad Wasim finished with a quick 26-ball 43 runs.
Despite Mustafizur’s another fifer, Pakistan put a mountain total of 315 runs in the scoreboard.
In reply, Bangladesh were never in the game after the wickets of the two openers. Although Shakib Al Hasan tried his best from one end, none of the other batsmen played a sensible knock. Shakib picked up his 5th fifty along with 2 hundreds in this world cup before going back to the pavilion.
