Bangladesh lose 50-over tour game

Cricket South Africa Invitation XI have registered a 6-wicket win over Bangladesh in the only 50-over tour game at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein on Thursday. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ প্রস্তুতি ম্যাচে সর্বোচ্চটা দিয়ে লড়াই করলো বাংলাদেশ]

Bangladesh posted 255 in 48.1 overs after electing to bat first in a 12-a-side game. Bangladesh top-order failed with scores of 27, 3, 8 and 22 from Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim respectively.

With four wickets down for 63 runs, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad put on 57-run stand. Mahmudullah also couldn’t make a big score. He made 21 runs off 27 balls with 2 fours and a six.

Shakib had a 76-run partnership with Sabbir Rahman for the sixth wicket. Shakib departed scoring 68 runs off 67 deliveries hitting 9 fours on his comeback cricket match.

Sabbir hit 54-ball 52 with two fours and three maximums. Nasir Hossain scored 12 off 23. Mohammad Saifuddin’s 13* and skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s 17 helped Bangladesh go over 250.

Robbie Frylinck, Malusi Siboto, Mbulelo Budaza and Aaron Phangiso took two wickets each for South Africa Invitation XI.

In reply, openers Aiden Markram and Matthew Breetzke gave the hosts a commanding start with a big partnership of 147 runs in 25.4 overs. The partnership was broken when Makram was caught and bowled by Nasir. The right-hander made brisk 68-ball 82 runs hitting eight fours and a six.

Mashrafe struck soon to dismiss Breetzke, who scored 71 off 100 with nine fours. AB de Villiers and skipper JP Duminy put on 62 runs for the third-wicket. Duminy got dismissed for 42-ball 34 by Mahmudullah

Mahmudullah took his second wicket just before the match ended. de Villiers was sent back for 50-ball 43 (two fours and a six). But those dismissals were too late for Bangladesh as CSA Invitation XI reached their target in 46.3 overs with six wickets in hand.
