Bangladesh lose four points after clean sweep

Number seven ranked ODI team Bangladesh started the series with 95 ratings. They had a lead of six points against number eight side Pakistan. They had a chance to strech the lead.

But due to 0-3 load, Bangladesh are in risk of being demoted in the ODI team ranking. If Pakistan beat Australia by 3-2 in the upcoming ODI series, they will takeover the seventh position with 93 points.

If Bangladesh had lost only by 1-2, their points would have remained unchanged. If they won by 2-1, it would have been increased to 97. A whitewash would have brought 5 points (100).

But they lost to Blackcaps in the first ODI in Christchurch by 77 runs and then fofollowed on losing by 67 runs and eight wickets in the last two ODIs in Nelson.

Bangladesh’s next ODI series will be against Sri Lanka (away series). The Tigers will look to improve their scenario in the rankings.
