According to sources, Anurag Thakur, the Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently met with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar Khan in Dubai. During that meeting, Thakur informed Khan that they cannot discuss anything regarding the scheduled series with Pakistan as they are entangled in their internal issues.
Meanwhile, Shahryar Khan has said that he doesn’t have much hope for the revival of the stalled India-Pakistan series. Again, Sartaj Aziz, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs, in a statement said that there was no chance of the highly anticipated India-Pakistan series due to the current situation of the bilateral issues.
In the meantime, Bangladesh are likely to play a limited-overs bilateral series against Zimbabwe next month, After Cricket Australia (CA) postponed its tour of Bangladesh citing security concerns. The Zimbabwe series will be followed by the third season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). But after the conclusion of the BPL in December, Bangladesh don’t have any further international fixture until Zimbabwe tour the country again for the Test series.
