Bangladesh name unchanged squad for final game

Bangladesh have named an unchanged squad for the T20I tri-nation series final against Afghanistan on Tuesday.

Bangladesh have finally broken their disastrous 4-0 losing streak against Afghanistan and they are set to face each other again in the tri-nation series final on Tuesday. The hosts have named an unchanged squad with Aminul Islam’s availability still in doubt.

The batting all-rounder made his debut against Zimbabwe where he picked up 2/18, but he couldn’t play the next game as he injured his hand and also had three stitches on it. The out of form Sabbir Rahman replaced him against Afghanistan, but he failed to make it count yet again as he departed for only 1 run.

It is now a matter of concern if Aminul failed to recover before the final. Opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto also failed to grab his chance and departed in both the games without scoring big. Naim Sheikh is likely to get an opportunity in the final with Liton Das.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan’s availability is also in doubt as he suffered a hamstring while fielding during the last game.

Bangladesh squad: Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Liton Das, Afif Hossain, Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mohammad Naim Sheikh, Aminul Islam Biplob, Nazmul Hossain Shanto.
