They came in front of BCB Academy around 3pm on Monday. Then Shakib Al Hasan along with some other cricketers made their statement before the media. They expressed their dissatisfaction in front of the media and revealed their demands.

Then the national team’s Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan announced to boycott all domestic first-class and international cricket unless certain demands were met, effecting putting the next month’s tour of India in jeopardy.

Regarding the movement, Shakib Al Hasan said, “The strike, including the national team, first class cricketers, all belong to this strike, and that is from today. First-class cricket, starting from the National League, preparation of the national team, preparation of the international cricket, all are included. “

He added, “Everything must be resolved in the negotiation. When the claims are accepted, we will return to our normal course of action.”

Mainly cricketers started the movement because of the dissatisfaction with the wages. They had showed their frustration over wages for long time. From Dhaka Premier League (DPL) to National Cricket League (NCL), everywhere the match fee for the cricketers are not enough according to them.

The trigger is by all accounts the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s choice a month ago to desert the Bangladesh Premier League’s franchise based model. It implied that the cricketer’s earning has gone to a record-breaking low.
