Windies skipper Jason Holder elected to bowl first on the grassy wicket. They left out practice match performers Shimron Hetmyer and Alzarri Joseph. Bangladesh handed seamer Abu Jayed Rahi a Test debut. Nurul Hasan Sohan was picked as wicket-keeper.

Liton Das opened with Tamim Iqbal. Kemar Roach struck in the fifth over with the wicket of Tamim. He then dismissed Mominul Haque. Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad – all were sent for ducks in the ninth over as Roach picked up his eighth five-for already in his five overs.

Liton was sent back by Miguel Cummins for 53-ball 25 runs as he looked to play a big shot. Nurul Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz didn’t do much as Cummins took three-for while Jason Holder’s late two wickets got Bangladesh bowled out for 43 runs in 18.3 overs.

Bangladesh have not only scored their lowest total but also the lowest in the 21st century and the 11th lowest overall. This is also the lowest total against Windies.
