Bangladesh reach final of Asian Games men’s cricket beating Nepal


Bangladesh cricket team lead by Nazmul Hossain Shanto has reached into the final of the Asian Games 2019 Men’s cricket event defeating Nepal.

Bangladesh accumulated 155 runs losing 6 wickets in their 20 overs after being sent into bat first in Kirtipur. Skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto added highest 75 runs. He faced 60 deliveries hitting four fours and equal number of sixes in his innings.

Afif Hossain Dhrubo was in more aggressive mode. Dhrubo reigned over the hosts bowlers executing a 28-ball 52. His innings was adorned by six shots of fours and a six.

For Nepal, Parash Khadka and Dipendra Singh claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Nepal lost their tracks from the very beginning. They lost their three top-order batsmen with 14 runs. Opener and skipper Ganendra Mallah tried to set things on line for the team with a hard-fought 43 runs but he failed to get support from his team-mates, eventually was restricted scoring 111 runs in 20 overs. They lost 9 wickets.

For Bangladesh, Shumon Khan, Tanvir Islam, Soumya Sarkar and Mehedi Hasan got 2 wickets each.

Result: Bangladesh won by 44 runs.
