On Saturday (June 25), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid the toll before entering the Mawa end of the bridge with a convoy of vehicles. He unveiled the inaugural plaque of the bridge at the end of Mawa around 12 noon. After crossing the bridge, the Prime Minister unveiled another inaugural plaque at the Jazira end. From Sunday (June 26), the Padma Bridge will be open to the public.
The Padma is one of the fastest flowing rivers in the world. So many challenges were waiting for the construction of the Padma bridge. At the same time, there were doubts about the supply of huge sums of money.
