Bangladesh Under-19 team has been knocked out of the ICC Under-19 World Cup suffering a huge defeat against India Under-19. On Friday, Bangladesh Under-19 team lost by 131 runs in Queenstown.
India Under-19 team skipper P Shaw won the toss and decided to bat first. After Robiul Haque hunted Manoj Kalra early in the innings, skipper P Shaw and Shubman Gill stood together to take the team innings to 102 when Shaw lost his wicket, bowled by Qazi Anik scoring 40 off 54 deliveries.
Shubman Gill stacked into the wicket for a long period of time after that. He constructed another 74 run partnership in the third wicket with HM Desai.
Shubman scored highest in the Indian innings; his 86 came off 94 deliveries. In the middle order, Abhishek Sharma hammered a 49 ball 50 with 6 shots of four. With four more balls to spare, India Under-19 team scored 265 runs losing all their wickets.
For Bangladesh, Qazi Onik captured 3 wickets while Nayeem Hasan and Saif Hassan took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Bangladesh Under-19 fall victim of losing early wickets and no one could built up a significant partnership in the innings.
Opener Pinak Ghosh was the sole survivor of the team; his 43 runs knock came in slow progression playing 75 balls.
All the Indian bowlers put strict line and length restricting the opposition to low individual totals.
Afif Hossain scored the second highest 18 runs in 40 balls. For India Under-19 team K Nagorkoti picked up 3 wickets conceding just 18 runs in his 7 overs.
